Lake
St. Peter provides room to explore, covering 230 hectares,
but is divided into sections by peninsula like fingers of land.
The
main or "big section" is most appropriate for motor
boating, and is separated from our frontage by a channel.

Our large bay seems to
be better for fishing and exploring by canoe (provided at the
cottage) or kayak which can be rented from the Prov Park. (Please
be aware that life jackets must be worn in the canoe and the
whistle and cup attached to the canoe are part of the boating
regulations.)
- The width of Lake St.
Peter is 2.5 miles, and it's perimeter is 8 miles of
winding shoreline. It is great for swimming with a sandy bottom
and wade in access that gets deep gradually.
- There is no dock, but a boat launch is available a
couple minutes away.
- Several life jackets are provided, including child sizes,
and one toddler size.
- Canadian Tire and Walmart stock kids life jackets in the
$20-30 range.
- The water level varies during the year but by July there
is usually 5-10 feet of sand on our frontage, enough to beach
the canoe or place a lawn chair easily.
Renters from last year said it was great for watching the kids,
because they could set up their chairs by the water. |
